Visit the Île de Ré
The jewel of the Atlantic Coast
At the centre of the island and close to Saint-Martin, Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré is brimming with holiday ambiance, with its 6 km of Blue Flag beaches. Behind their dunes, there lies a vast woodland territory perfect for long leisurely walks. With the wide variety of cycle routes here, you’ll be able to explore the area and discover the authentic nature of each of the nine other villages on the island.
Straddling a stretch of coast, the village is best explored by taking a wander along its winding lanes and alleyways, which bloom with hollyhocks from May to September. The centre of the village springs to life with numerous shops and businesses, and a daily market in high season. As the biggest market on the island, it’s worth spending the time to explore, with sea products, local produce, clothes, and vintage items all on sale.
